Mixed-use Quarter ZAC Belval, Esch-sur-Alzette (LUX)

The Belval area, covering around 120 hectares on the territory of the city of Esch-sur-Alzette and the municipality of Sanem, is considered a pilot project in the conversion of former steel sites in Luxembourg. It is the first urban district in Luxembourg with a consistent It is the first district in Luxembourg with a consistent functional mix of living, working, studying, research, leisure and recreation and with a strong focus on sustainable development. The Luxembourg state alone is investing around one billion euros in this project, which in future will house, among other things, the central headquarters of the University of Luxembourg as well as numerous public institutions and administrations.

On Lot 40, we are building a striking mixed-use building complex that provides attractive space for offices, shops and services at the base. Above this, the residential floors are built in such a way that the park-like roof of the base forms a quiet, green inner courtyard for the residents. The interplay of different heights and window openings creates an exciting, rhythmic structure and at the same time ensures a strong urban character.
