Werftareal Zirkuswiese, Korneuburg (AT)

The area of the former Korneuburg shipyard between the Danube and the A22 is surrounded by old industrial buildings, detached houses and allotment gardens. A new district is being created here with flats and a mix of culture, education, gastronomy, shops and work.

Our striking four-storey residential building marks the south-eastern entrance to the new Werftviertel. A diverse range of paths, squares and communal spaces as well as flexibly interconnectable floor plans ensure a high quality of living. In the centre of the complex, a leafy, attractively furnished inner courtyard invites you to linger, while the stepped, ring-like interconnected roof terraces offer urban gardening and a generous sun terrace with a view of the future city quarter and the Danube. Numerous balconies and loggias extend the living space to the outside. Their massive frames structure the façade and give it a distinctive character. A terrace café at the south-east corner of the apartment block accentuates the prominent location as a friendly inviting gesture.
