Sports & Leisure Center, St. Michael im Lungau (DE)

A new sports, family and leisure center is to be built at the entrance to St. Michael im Lungau. The 35,000 m² large area offers enough space for generous sports facilities for soccer, curling and tennis, as well as the necessary infrastructure.

Our design splits up the individual functions into three single-story buildings around a central plaza and assigns each of them to a sport. All sports fields and buildings can be viewed from this plaza, which the restaurant in the “football building” can also use as a terrace. This arrangement creates a clear orientation and a connection between the town centre and the leisure area of the Murinsel.

The sports and leisure center forms a self-confident address in this exposed location, yet blends harmoniously into the landscape thanks to the flat buildings made of Lungau mountain larch.
