Ivoclar Vivadent Headquarters, Schaan (LI)

The new Ivoclar Vivadent headquarters represent an additional key element of the campus in Schaan, which has grown with the company. As the future main entrance and address, the new building will assume central and representative tasks both internally and externally. The discrete structure creates and its spacious, light-flooded atrium create a field of tension between communication and function. In terms of urban planning, the building presents itself in a compact and clear volume and relates to the campus and the surrounding industrial structures through height development and dimension.
The path leads from the striking, covered entrance directly into the reception area in the central atrium. All public functions such as reception, restaurant and conference area are bundled on the ground floor. Generous glazing provides various visual connections and supports the idea of a communicative space. Around the atrium, the offices are arranged in a highly flexible three-span floor plan. The layout of the rooms can be changed at any time using mobile partition walls.
The restaurant is part of the foyer and extends to the west. The seating areas can also be used for informal discussions and small meetings outside mealtimes. The multifunctional conference room on the north side of the atrium is slightly lowered and creates threshold-like spaces, separating the different functions. Glazed all around, the room can be visually divided or completely darkened through the use of curtains.
Two central access cores directly adjoin the atrium and lead to the upper floors. Terraces, connected by open staircases, protrude into the atrium on all floors and form communicative zones.
The façade represents the image of the stacked levels to the outside. The alternating play of white concrete and window bands is loosened up by the external sun protection made of movable metal panels.
