Business Park Am Rothkreuz, Weissensberg (DE)

The future office building for 300 employees of CMORE Automotive GmbH is located directly on the highway. This exposed location requires sophisticated planning, both because of the high noise emissions and the desired long-distance effect.

Design
Our design shows a compact, four-storey atrium house with a diversified aluminium-wood façade. The functional areas such as the foyer, food court, fitness studio and rest areas, as well as the prototype hall, are located on the ground floor. All areas are visually connected by the light-flooded atrium. On the upper floors, the offices are grouped around the central atrium. Two cores diagonally opposite each other connect all levels in short distances. The flexible floor plan and the consistent façade grid enable a wide variety of working environments, from focused individual cells to open office landscapes.

Construction
Above the in-situ concrete construction of the parking level, the other floors will be erected as a hybrid construction in wood and reinforced concrete. The massive core around the naturally lit atrium serves as bracing. The office area nestles around this service zone with wooden columns and a visible wood-concrete composite ceiling. A modern and natural office atmosphere is created in conjunction with the aluminium-wood windows on the façade side.

Energy concept
The building is characterized by its compact, economical design with high daylight utilization. The storage masses of the open concrete ceilings make a significant contribution to stabilizing the indoor climate. The wood-hybrid construction method reduces the CO² requirement during the realization of the building by approx. 70%. The closed facade elements in combination with the external sun protection minimize the need for heating and cooling without impairing the use of daylight.
