Lecture: 28.4.2022, Baukongress Vienna
Dominik Philipp speaks at this year’s Building Congress in Vienna on the topic of “BIM and timber construction: the opportunity for seamless digitalisation in the construction industry”.
Automation has long since arrived in industrial production. In construction, however, formwork is still assembled according to printed plans with a tolerance in the centimetre range defined in the standard. With our processing approach, we close the gap between planning and realisation. Integral models go through a highly efficient process from design to joining on the construction site. With wood, the high precision from the digital BIM model can be brought directly to the construction site. The CNC milling machine is controlled directly from the model. This solution integrates the production-relevant performance of the work preparation into the BIM model, reduces the interfaces to a minimum and completely eliminates the time-consuming and error-prone reconciliation and approval processes of the work and assembly planning. There is now only one model, and it is produced with millimetre precision using the CNC milling machine.

For the construction technology and construction sector, the BAUKONGRESS is one of the most important major events not only in Austria. It serves around 2,000 decision-makers from the construction industry, politics and science as a neutral platform for knowledge transfer and networking.
