i+R Group Headquarters, Lauterach (AT)

The new headquarters was designed to unify all companies of the i+R Group under one roof, placing focus on work environment, construction methodology, and integration into the urban context. It is the first office building of Vorarlberg with LEED Platinum certification, satisfying the highest requirements in terms of sustainable construction. It constitutes the centerpiece of the campus with a logistic center and several of the subsidiary companies of the group.
The 150 workstations are distributed on four floors with a useful area of 3.100 m². The building is presented as a model for the company, with its functional organization, its responsible use of resources and an ultra-efficient automated management. Geothermic probes ensure the heating and air-conditioning; photovoltaic panels provide the energy needed for the heat pump, providing a total of 70% of the energetic requirement of the building. External venetian blinds installed on the southern facade help to reduce the need for air-conditioning during the summer. Interior spaces receive a maximum of natural light, reducing the lighting requirements to less than 50 %.
