Villa Pohl, Bregenz (AT)

On the outskirts of Bregenz at the foot of the Pfänder stood the old Villa Pohl, ready for demolition and no longer adaptable to today’s living needs. In its place Dietrich | Untertrifaller has built a villa-like residential house with four maisonette apartments with individual floor plans.
Living and sleeping zones are clearly differentiated. A projecting “curtain” made of perforated, canted copper panels makes the house with its large openings look like a villa and ensures unobstructed views of the bay of Bregenz. The interior glass facade defines the private areas and conveys a certain degree of lightness due to its transparency. At the same time, the metal sheet with its windows and openings extends along the entire west side carving out private areas and shielding the occupants.
