Transformation Velag-Areal, Bregenz (AT)

The abandoned site of an animal feed factory, extended by two new building sections, was transformed into a residential quarter. The silo, whose small-scale reinforced concrete structure proved resistant to changes, was preserved as a landmark, and an attic apartment was erected on its roof. The suspended balconies revitalize the factory façade and provide clues as to its new use.
