Tourism & City Marketing, Bregenz

We modernized the tourist information office of Bregenz Tourismus & Stadtmarketing on the first floor of a listed building with a majestic double pediment. Our respectful renovations aim to preserve the strong existing architectural elements, such as the wide arched windows, while offering a clear and inviting concept for visitors and staff.
The large space we divided into three visually connected areas. Behind the main entrance, a spacious foyer with a wall-length shelf for travel brochures and a touch screen enables visitors to search for information on their own. This area is separated from the main room by a sliding glass door and is therefore accessible independently of the tourist office’s opening hours.
The main room is naturally lit by the existing, generous window openings and offers views of Kornmarktplatz and the Vorarlberg Museum. Behind the long, freestanding consultation desk, a floor-to-ceiling wooden cabinet separates the back office. A wide opening runs the length of the furniture at eye level, allowing staff to easily communicate with each other and keep an eye on what’s happening in the main room.
We used light oak wood for the interior finish; the light color creates a warm, inviting atmosphere and a nice contrast to the dark natural stone floor and white walls.
