Hotel Tannahof, Au (AT)

For generations the „Tannahof“, a traditional Bregenzer house in Au, has been home to an inn. As it was growing into a flourishing hotel, the 1950s demanded a side extension for the reception and additional rooms. Two generations later, increasing guest expectations asked for a structural refresher. Extension and barn were demolished and a modern wing was added to the historic front building. A one-story side pavilion now houses a reception and a bar, as well as a ski cellar for the winter season.
The new buildings are constructed in timber, carried out by local manufacturers, supporting to the philosophy of “reinterpreting and continuing tradition.” The Tannahof was furthermore expanded to offer four additional double rooms, two suits and an apartment in the attic. A wellness area with an open-air courtyard in the basement completes the new ensemble.
