House C, Hard (AT)

The house is located on an idyllic property in the middle of a relatively dense building structure. The elongated, three story building is almost closed towards the northeast in order to counteract an existing factory building. A one story black concrete box on the same side accommodates the secondary rooms connected to the kitchen. On the opposite southwest side, the building is completely glazed allowing light to flood the house.
The construction consists of a u-shaped exposed concrete wall in a larch lamella façade with few openings and an exposed wooden construction made of larch-laminated beams. A structure made of black exposed concrete, inserted into the house, forms the vestibule and garage. While the ground floor comprises hallway, toilet, kitchen, utility room, dining room and living room, the upper floors are more private. The first floor houses the children’s rooms with wardrobe and bathroom, a gallery and a study. The second floor accommodates the parent’s area with wardrobe, bathroom and bedroom, a gallery, a guest room and a roof terrace facing Lake Constance.
