A residential and commercial building with a total of 110 rental apartments is being built in the Wilten district of Innsbruck. The ground floor will be enlivened by representative commercial and industrial areas. For Harald Gohm, Managing Director of Prisma Tirol, the combination of freely financed and subsidised rental apartments in one property is “a model with a signal effect”.
We have developed a strong, slender structure with a highly structured plastic façade made of fair-faced concrete for this important and exposed urban location directly on the heavily frequented Anton-Melzer-Strasse. The precisely placed buildings enclose the wide street space and blend harmoniously into the surrounding block edge development. The façade design also acts as noise barrier for the apartments behind. The diverse residential forms with protected private open spaces and room-high glazing offer beautiful views of the mountains. The green inner courtyard creates a quiet space for relaxation and encounters and continues in a spacious common room.
The consistent use of robust, natural materials and an extensively greened roof contribute significantly to the contemporary demand for sustainability in residential buildings.
