Am Hafen – Mixed Use, Bregenz (AT)

This vast property complex creates a new urban space at a strategic location near the port and extends the historic center of Bregenz to the north. Perfectly integrated in the city by its spatial program, it is clearly distinguished by its form.
The main building, a six-story office tower above a restaurant on the ground floor, succeeds by its location to mitigate the impact of the road and to create an urban landmark. In the background, three parallel buildings facing south are placed on a common pedestal. On the north side, one building houses a supermarket: totally glazed along the sidewalk, it offers a transparency between the interior of the shops and the street space. Access to the gardens set up on the roof of the base and open courses is reserved for the inhabitants. The south-facing units all have loggias, while those to the west enjoy a splendid panorama of Lake Constance from their terraces.
