The 8th Client’s Award of the Hypo Vorarlberg honours innovative contemporary architecture and the exemplary cooperation of clients and planners in Vorarlberg. The prize, which is awarded every five years, underlines the importance of high-quality, long-term effective building and planning for society and the environment. It is endowed with 30.000 Euro and conferred jointly on clients and planners.

The submissions provide a valuable overview and show tendencies, how the regional building culture has developed within half a decade and where there has perhaps been stagnation or regression.

The role of the clients is central to this. Clients who pay attention to quality architecture not only open up conceptual and real spaces to themselves. Their surroundings and society also benefit from the cultural, social, ecological, economic and design value of this commitment. The vai is an organisational partner of the Bauherrenpreis and is responsible for the submission, jury and publication as well as the presentation of all submissions in an exhibition.

All the projects submitted for the 8th Clients’ Prize of the Hypo Vorarlberg will be on show from 3 October 2020 to 9 January 2021 at the vai Vorarlberg Architecture Institute and at the Hypo Vorarlberg. A detailed documentation of the competition results will be published in a special supplement of Vorarlberger Nachrichten.
