Won: Metzgergrün Quarter, Freiburg (D)

Dietrich | Untertrifaller and landscape architect Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl have been awarded multiple contracts by Freiburger Stadtbau GmbH for the Metzgergrün quarter. The settlement is to change significantly over the next ten years and develop into a modern quarter with approx. 500 apartments without losing its original character.
“This urbanistic composition of residential courtyards, a socio-spatial centre, high-quality and differentiated usable open spaces, new networks and correct path connections has the potential to create a model-like and future-oriented quarter,” the jury praised the design.
